What is ISO/IEC 17025? 

ISO/IEC 17025 is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. It covers testing, calibration and sampling laboratories and is applicable to all organizations performing laboratory activities, regardless of the number of personnel. The standard requires laboratories to demonstrate their ability to produce precise and accurate test and/or calibration data, and to operate a quality management system that provides confidence in the results they produce. Laboratories that meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 can demonstrate that they operate competently and generate valid results, which can be trusted by their customers.
